Directions: From Sheridan Blvd just north of Hampden, turn right on Dartmouth Ave and head west. The parking area is across from the High School at the corner of Lamar and Dartmouth.
Bear Valley Park is a very scenic section of the Bear Creek Trail. The park hosts various playgrounds and picnic facilities in addition to the paved Bear Creek Trail. There are some single track dirt social trails that stray from the path to explore the creek giving this area more of a nature trail feel. In winter the paved trail makes for a good walk when the dirt trails are muddy and icy. This hike (walk) can be linked with the Bear Creek Greenbelt and the Stonehouse Trail to make for a longer outing. |
