CULEBRA PEAK, 14,053 FT, SOLD! - The ranch property that contains Culebra Peak, elevation 14,053 ft, as well as numerous other 13,000+ peaks has been sold to an unknown buyer. The peak currently operates by a limited permit system for hikers seeking to climb the 14er.  Future access is now in question as the new owner's intent for public access is unknown.  Click HERE for the full article.

President Obama has designated BROWNS CANYON NATIONAL MONUMENT along the Arkansas River near Salida, to be managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service.
