Directions:  The Trailhead is located at Bear Lake, which is the end of Bear Lake Road.  Once you enter the park, turn left onto Bear Creek Road and follow this until the end and the large parking area.  You can also park at the park n ride and take the free shuttle bus to Bear Lake, which fills up quickly in the summer months.

The hike to Dream Lake is an easy jaunt in the summer and fall but a real adventure in the wintertime.  The trail is typically packed or at least clearly defined since it is heavily traveled (even in the winter).  That being said, be sure to bring your snowshoes.  The trail skirts along the east shore of Bear Lake and meanders its way to Nymph Lake.  From here the trail follows the north shore of the lake and gains elevation up to Dream Lake.  If you are lucky you'll get a blue bird winter view of the lake with Hallett and Flattop Peaks rising in the distance.  If the weather is good you should consider continuing up the trail for just a short ways to Emerald Lake where the peaks are almost close enough to touch.
