Directions:  From Denver, Head west on I-70 to C470 west to Hwy 285 South.  Take the exit on the right for Foxton Road, there are signs pointing to Reynolds Park.  Head south on Foxton Road until you enter the park.  Park at the parking area on the right and start off on the Elkhorn Trail.

The hike up to the Eagle's View is a difficult, steep trail with a big time payoff.  The views from the top of the ridge and the Eagle's View Overlook are expansive and utterly fantastic.  The views continue for a good stretch of the trail as you traverse the ridge that opens up to the southwest.  You'll be treated to views of many of the area's iconic rock formations and mountains, such as the Cathedral Spires, the Chair Rocks, Thunder Butte, and Pike's Peak out in the distance.

Getting to the viewpoint is not easy.  Start by following the Elkhorn Trail, which is easy enough, but once you start to ascend the Oxen Draw trail, you'll feel the burn...in a good way.  The trails weave through dense pine forest and the views are saved as a reward for reaching the top.  After you've spent plenty of time with the views along the ridge, descend along the Raven's Roost Trail and hook back up with the Elkhorn Trail for a great 4.3 mi loop.

Eagle's View is the reason to hike at Reynolds Park and it is truly worth all the effort.  It gives you a glimpse into a part of Colorado's Front Range that is often overlooked by many hikers.  Once you are exposed to this area you'll find yourself coming back to explore year after year.
