Mueller State Park Trail Map
Directions:  From Colorado Springs, head west on Hwy 24 to the Town of Divide.  Head south on 67 and turn west on Wapiti (Elk) Road, into the park.

Mueller State Park is a beautiful place to hike in the Front Range mountains west of Colorado Springs.  The park is beautiful in any season but when the Fall runs into the Winter, this park is pure magic.  The Homestead/Black Bear/Revenuers Ridge Loop gives you a good taste of Mueller's scenic beauty.

Before you head out to the trail, be sure to stop by the visitor's center and take in the views west to the Collegiate Peaks...stunning.  Drive up the road to the Homestead Trailhead and start heading downhill on the homestead trail flanked by tall Aspen trees and boulders shaded with red rock.  The Homestead Trail will turn to the north but before it does you'll get a wonderful view of the Collegiate Peaks to the west.  Stay on the Homestead Trail at the intersection with Trail #26 (Beaver Ponds) heading north into the pine woods splashed with colorful aspen.

At the intersection, turn left (west) onto trail #13, the Black Bear Trail, to start the second part of the figure eight loop.  You'll be treated to nice views across the meadow to the backside of Pike's Peak as you head down the wide trail.  After about 1/2 mile, turn right onto Trail #31, the Mountain Logger Trail.  Head north for about .7 miles and turn right to rejoin the Homestead Trail.  When you return to the junction with Trail 13, turn left onto 13, The Black Bear Trail.  After about .3 miles turn right onto Trail #1, Revenuers Ridge.  Revenuers Ridge will take you back to the homestead trailhead through forests, across meadows, and past a large pile of giant boulders, fun scrambling can be had.

When all is said and done the double loop will have given you about 4 miles of hiking, over 1,000ft of elevation gain, aspens, evergreens, boulders, views...pretty much the whole package.
