Directions: From Denver, take I-76 Northeast to 85 north. Turn left (west) onto 104th Ave and follow it past the Platte River and Elaine T. Valente Open Space. The park is just before you reach Colorado Blvd on the south side of the road.
Grandview Ponds Open Space is not really a hike, it’s more of a walk or a stroll. That being said, it is a pretty park and there is a natural area that is worthwhile to explore. I’m a sucker for Prairie Dogs, I’ll admit it, so this park is enticing as the trail weaves through Prairie Dog habitat. There are also some nice views west to the Mountains and the ponds are scenic and relaxing. If you want to make a longer hiking experience, cross 104th and explore the Riverdale Open Space along with Grandview Ponds. Otherwise, just relax and enjoy this scenic park. |
