Directions: The trail is located at the Canyon Visitor Center off of Hwy 40 just east of the Town of Dinosaur.
The Cold Desert Trail is a very easy stroll across the high desert. The trail is a self guided nature walk and serves as a good introduction to the area and the flora and fauna that you will see during your visit to the park. From the Visitor Center, pick up the trail, cross Harpers Corner Road and hike the short loop. The interpretive aspect of the walk is very interesting and the surrounding landscape is stark and beautiful. This is a great way to shake off the long drive from...anywhere... |
