Directions: Johnson Park is located on Wadsworth Blvd just south of the intersection with I-70. However, in order to access the park, you need to be going southbound on Wadsworth. From I-70 it's easy enough, just exit Wadsworth and head south and make a quick turn into Johnson Park. If you are approaching the park from Wadworth heading north, then cross the highway, make a U-Turn and head back south on Wadsworth in order to access the park.
This section of the Clear Creek Trail/Wheat Ridge Greenbelt is one of the most pleasant. The trail connects two nice parks and the entirety of the trail is through pleasant wooded riparian habitat. From the parking area follow the paved trail west for .5 mile to a footbridge crossing Clear Creek. After the bridge you'll see a narrow natural surface trail that follows the banks of the creek. This is a very pleasant portion of the trail with ample areas to sit creek-side and relax. The natural surface trail meets up with the paved trail after .3 miles or so.
Once back on the paved trail cross under W 44th Ave and you'll soon find yourself at Anderson Park, a small side trail leads you down to a nice spot along the creek.
Continue on the CCT or head back to Johnson Park for a nice 2 mile walk.
