Directions:

From I-70 west of Gypsum, take either of the exits for the Gypsum Recreation Site. There are multiple parking areas connected by the Frontage Road.

Hike Description:

The Gypsum Recreation Site is a fishing and river access point along the Eagle River East of where it joins with the Colorado River and enters Glenwood Canyon. Since the primary use is fishing, there are many use trails that can be combined for a pleasant river-side hike. There really is no step-by-step description needed here, just explore to your heart's content. The cottonwoods along the river are very pleasant and the views of the the nearby hillsides composed of the red soil indicative of the area make exploration here worthwhile...not to mention the wonderful Eagle River.
