Hike Description:
The Fruita Unit of the James M. Robb Colorado River State Park has two hiking trails, the River Trail and the Red Rocks Lake Trail. The trail around the lake is about 1 mile and the River trail is about .5 mile roundtrip. The entire park is scenic and a good place to camp if you area exploring the Grand Valley.
While the hiking is very easy here, the Lake and River trails are worthwhile as you are rewarded with great views of the entrances to Fruita Canyon and Kodels Canyon across the river. The red rock cliffs of Colorado National Monument tower high above the river enticing you to explore this region further.
